College Student Looking For A Job

A forum for Coaches, Administrators, and Officials to discuss matches, tournaments, technique, schedules etc...
Forum rules
1. Only leave links to other websites that clearly add to the conversation. Any blatant promotion of another site will be removed and the poster will be warned and possibly banned. While it's fine to have a very relevant link (fitness, diets and health as it relates to those topics) in your signature, don't try and increase the visibility of your signature by posting short answers to questions such as 'LOL'.

2. A forum is a place where you can interact with people from all over the world. This will lead to the exchange of ideas that you may not completely agree with. It is OK to debate others and defend your point of view, however there is a fine line between doing it in a respectful way and making people feel unwelcome. Always stand up for what you believe in, but do it in a way that won't lead to unfriendly and bitter rivalries. We should all be friends here, so please argue accordingly.

3. Listen to the moderators. They are here to help answer questions and make conversations run more smoothly. You can find them by clicking the members button at the top. All moderators have green text for their names. Don't hesitate to message them with any questions or concerns.

4. Avoid using 'bad' words. This is a board for all age groups and we all know that some words or phrases aren't appropriate for everyone. If you have a really good argument, 'bad' words aren't necessary to get the point across.

My son, Sam Perryman, is a senior at Ozark High School in Ozark Missouri. He has wrestled for 12 years, a 4 year varsity wrestler, 2 time state qualifier and finished his wrestling career last week with 119 wins. He will be going to college this fall at John Brown University in Siloam Springs and is looking for a kids club and/or a high school program to work with. He has given individual lessons to several younger kids over the last 3 years. He wrestled 130 lbs as a senior so he is small enough to drill with some of the kids. I have suggested to him giving lessons and refereeing some kids club/Jr High tournaments would be a better college job then some minimum wage job flipping hamburgers. If you are interested in having a fine young man work with your program, please email me at sperrycpa@gmail.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false. I would be happy to give you references.

Mr. Perryman-

We look forward to your son joining us in the great state of Arkansas to help enrich our wrestlers. That said, I do want to share with you that since it is an up and coming sport in the area, the kinds of jobs you are hoping your son might find most likely will be somewhat hard to come by if non-existent. Just some background on myself, I began wrestling in Illinois at the age of 4 and went on to coach several kids programs and then on to coach at the college level...leading two of my teams to 3rd and 5th place finishes in the nation. I came to Arkansas several years ago and started the wrestling programs in 4 area high schools before the sport became sanctioned and I no longer held the proper certifications to continue coaching. I now officiate in the area and recently officiated the state tournament. So, I have a pretty good feel for the needs of the area. We have some great former wrestlers in the area already who are working with our northwest Arkansas wrestlers, but are doing so for free. I say this not to discourage you, rather to let you know the environment your son will be moving into. We welcome him with open arms and hope he can find a place to share his wealth of knowledge.
One final thing I would like to share with you is the story of an individual that wrestled in Illinois, placed in the state tournament, could not get a scholarship, went to junior college, worked every possible shift at the local Burger King, and then went on to wrestle Division II. He is now the sucessful owner/manager of six franchises in the metropolitan Chicagoland area. As you know wrestlers are a determined and hard working group of individuals and your son will do great things I am sure.
